Midnight Miracle was born from my absolute love for the vampire genre—they’ve always been my favorite creatures of the night. Inspired by cinematic classics like Nosferatu and Daybreakers, we set out to craft a darkly glamorous world that merges gothic elegance with a sleek, mid-century modern twist. The concept also playfully pokes fun at the beauty industry’s obsession with ‘perfection’—because, really, what do flawless, immortal beings need with beauty products?

What truly brought Midnight Miracle to life was the incredible talent of my team. Samuel’s special effects makeup added a hauntingly beautiful edge to our vampire muse, while Adriana’s inspired brand design transformed the look and feel of the entire concept. Every person poured something unique into this project, pushing both their skills and creative boundaries to build this seductive, immersive vision.

I’m thrilled to finally share it with you—explore the page to see how every element came together and step into the world of Midnight Miracle.

The Creation & The Crew

Midnight Miracle is the latest in a series of Halloween projects I’ve worked on with MUA Samuel Richard. In past years, we’ve brought characters like the Sanderson Sisters to life and created Corvus, a crow humanoid creature trapped between the worlds of the living and the dead. Samuel’s passion for special effects makeup and all things supernatural makes him the best collaborator for these projects. This year, when we first started brainstorming, he suggested something Beetlejuice-inspired, especially with the new movie coming out. But then he had an even better idea: a faux beauty brand for vampires. The concept was so quirky and bold that I knew we needed a designer to bring it fully to life. I immediately thought of Adriana DelMar—we’d collaborated in SF before, and I knew her packaging experience would elevate Samuel’s vision.

Adriana took Samuel’s horror-inspired red-and-blue color palette—red for vampiric allure and blue for a touch of midnight mystery—and crafted a full brand identity around it. She combined a gothic logo with modern, minimalist text, designed a sleek box to contrast with the ornate bottle, and added cheeky website copy that gave Midnight Miracle just the right dose of wit. The result? A brand that feels equal parts sophisticated and playfully self-aware.

Daybreakers: Daybreakers is set in a future where most of the world’s population are vampires, and humans are nearly extinct..

Daybreakers: In the movie the pointy ears of the vampires symbolize their transformation from humans to more primal, predatory beings.

Nosferatu: Shadows symbolize the Counts sinister reach, This iconic use of shadows helped define the visual style of horror cinema.

Vampires have crept through centuries of folklore, cinema, and pop culture, adapting their looks with each era. From the ghostly, elongated figure of Nosferatu in the 1920s to the dark-glam mystique of Dracula, and even the sleek, seductive vampires of Blade and Underworld, these creatures of the night have always embodied mystery, allure, and just the right amount of danger. For Midnight Miracle, we honed in on the eerie classic horror of Nosferatu and the sleek, modern vampire lore in Daybreakers, blending them to craft a character who combines timeless gothic elegance with a modern edge. Enter Amaris, our “child of the moon”—a vampire who captures the best of both worlds in her glamorous, darkly alluring look.

The Birth of a  Vampire

The special effects makeup by MUA Samuel Richards brought our vision of a timeless, alluring vampire to life with exquisite detail. Samuel and I have collaborated on past Halloween projects, and his previous creations have always blown me away, so I was especially excited when we decided to take on vampires this year.

For Amaris, he used prosthetic ears and fangs to give her that unmistakable vampiric look, recalling classic horror with a fresh, modern twist. To capture that flawless, otherworldly skin often described in vampire lore, Samuel airbrushed her complexion to perfection, creating a porcelain-like effect that feels both mesmerizing and supernatural. Yellow contacts added an eerie, captivating gaze, hinting at her ancient power.  Check out instagram to see BTS of Saumel working his magic.

Samuel’s goal was to create a vampire who wasn’t just a creature of the night but one with a touch of vanity—a muse who perfectly embodies the spirit of Midnight Miracle. Amaris is both elegant and a little bit sinister, the ideal face for a brand that playfully critiques the beauty industry’s obsession with perfection.

We even took inspiration from real beauty ads, referencing poses and styling to give Amaris the look of a glamorous, slightly vain vampire who’s the perfect muse for Midnight Miracle. Samuel’s attention to detail brought her character to life as both elegant and a bit sinister, ideal for a brand that playfully critiques the beauty industry’s obsession with perfection

The bottle for our Midnight Miracle serum was a vital part of creating the dramatic flair that defines the brand. We needed something unique enough to stand out, but within budget. After a lot of searching, we got lucky and found the perfect vintage bottle on eBay during one of our creative calls. Its sleek, unusual shape fit our vision perfectly, giving our faux beauty product that touch of timeless elegance.

With the bottle in hand, we turned to the challenge of concocting our faux “serum.” We experimented with practical effects, blending glycerin, water, food coloring, and shimmering powder to create a magical, otherworldly liquid. It took trial and error, as the mixture settled quickly, making it tricky to capture that glowing, suspended effect. To get the perfect shots for both motion and stills, we ended up comping together a few frames, creating a final look that feels mystical and mesmerizing—ideal for our vampire-inspired brand.

A bottle worthy of an acient vampire

Creating Midnight Miracle was an incredible experience. What started as a simple idea for some portraits evolved into a full-fledged campaign, complete with design, visuals, and storytelling. We poured our hearts and hundreds of hours into every detail. This project pushed me to learn new techniques in motion and compositing, and it gave me the chance to work with an exceptionally talented team, each person contributing their best to bring the vision to life. I can’t wait to dive into more projects like this.

We’re thrilled to share this labor of love with you—if you’re dreaming up a creative concept that needs to come alive, we’d love to make it happen.
